The DuBois Regional Airport has seen an increase in plane tickets since switching airlines.
Airport officials said there’s been a 200 percent increase in passengers within the first nine months of 2017. The increase comes after the airport switched from Silver to Southern Airlines.
During the holiday season, the airport had more passengers than all 16 of Southern’s non-hub airports.
“it just goes to show you people like to get home for the holidays and DuBois is home for a lot people,” Dubois Airport Authority board member Joe Varacallo said.
The most popular destination is Pittsburgh. There are three flights each day.
